Eight Bells Abbotsley speciality nights.

Fancy something special? Fancy something mouth wateringly delicious? Fancy something freshly cooked to your liking to celebrate a special occasion or a festive get together? The Eight Bells speciality nights might be just the thing for you!

Steak Night Thursday

Every week we have Steak Night Thursday ... where you have a choice of Fillet (£15.95), Sirloin (£12.95), Ribeye (£12.95) or Rump (£9.95) all expertly cooked to your requirements. All steaks are 8oz, all are sourced from Woodview (local supplier) and all are served with hand cut chips, garden peas, a roasted tomato and onion rings. To compliment the steak why not grab a wine, beer, spirt or soft drink from the bar.

Fish Frifday

At the end of the week you can pick from plaice, haddock and occasionally cod during our Fish Friday speciality night where fish is £8.50 all day (normal price: £9.95). Advertised as 'Beer battered fish of the day' the dish is served with hand cut chips, mushy peas and homemade tartare sauce.

Sunday Roast

On Sundays we serve up a traditional Sunday roast (£9.95), sourced from our local supplier. We always offer two cuts of meat, Beef, and then usually either Pork, Turkey or Lamb, but on our very special days, we may offer Gammon or Chicken. Each Sunday roast comes with a Yorkshire pudding, seasonal vegetables, gravy and then, depending on the meat, pigs in blankets or crackling for turkey/pork.

Special occasions

Throughout the year we also hold special holiday events and themed nights. At Christmas the pub is decked out to look festive with the roaring fire going, mulled wine and, to really get you in the right mood, we also put on your traditional Christmas meal (2 or 3 courses) with all the trimmings.

Other speciality nights provide a chance to book a table for your family at Easter, your mum on Mothers Day, your Papa on Fathers Day, the love of your life for a romantic experience on Valentines day, or, top it all off with a table with friends to celebrate burns night.

  • Burns night: Usually a 4 course Scottish dinner, consisting of Scottish inspired meals. Haggis, Neeps and tatties. Stew, whiskey dressings, Cranachan and deep-fried mars bars.
  • Mothers Day, Fathers Day: Usually a 2/3 course Sunday Roast with all of the trimmings.
  • Valentines Day: Usually a romantic 2/3 course meal from a selected menu.
